ABOUT THIS ROLE
Our Client has an immediate opening for a Program Manager to join our Finance Technology product team. This role will identify impact to the global accounting organization from multiple, simultaneous consumer and creator product launches, working with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, managing through ambiguity and complexity. This role will partner closely with product management, engineering, finance to translate financial requirements into accounting requirements documents (ARD), journal entry mapping (JEM), tax accounting requirements (TAR) that will be used by engineering teams to build system accounting capabilities. Responsibilities of this role include guiding new business launch teams, helping them to identify and incorporate necessary detailed accounting requirements, and to identify internal control elements within systems or tools to support new business activities, considering automation capabilities (current and future). The financial business analyst will be part of the product management organization but will have dotted line reporting into Finance.

This team’s expansive scope covers all of the systems within the company that are leveraged for financial management and tax compliance. A team of dedicated engineers works alongside of other engineering teams across the company to enhance and build systems to continuously scale our Client’s global customer reach. This team works across functions, with critical guidance from accounting and tax professionals in both companies. Your success will directly benefit both our client’s millions of listeners, as well as creators across the globe. In addition, you’ll gain direct insight into one of the world’s largest retailers, as you work closely with their partners to leverage the best of our technology and infrastructure.

ABOUT YOU
This position supports and can directly influence the launches of some of the client’s newest global business initiatives. This individual will work closely with the Financial Technology team, accounting operations teams, tax, and others and represent the accounting organization to various stakeholders. In this role, the candidate will be part of a team that collaborates with business, finance, and technical teams to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible. This person will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment, managing through ambiguity and complexity, and demonstrate and ability to support multiple, simultaneous, project launches at any one time. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.

This individual has a proven history of contributing to successful product launches, partnering with teams to manage prioritization and trade-offs of short-term value and long-term strategic goals. This individual has experience with building systems, reporting, and services for financial organizations. This individual has deep knowledge of revenue reconciliation, the financial close process, and taxation. This individual is detail-oriented, ambitious, and a self-starter. This individual has a depth of understanding in accounting processes and principles including Chart of Accounts (CoA), project management, accounting requirements documentation (e.g., Journal Entry Mapping), business process design, and user acceptance testing.

As a Program Manager, you will:​ Job responsibilities will include:

Develop an in-depth understanding of accounting and corporate finance
Support critical relationships with internal and external business partners
Deliver complex projects from initiation through delivery
Streamline program delivery across accounting by standardizing project communications, execution and documentation, ensuring consistent, scalable global processes
Gather requirements from appropriate process owners, writes clear and detailed functional specifications, prioritizes features and drives technical scoping as needed
Drive continuous process improvement by collaborating with stakeholders on design of new solutions that enhance business performance and achieve established goals
Ensure consistent and efficient execution of all functions across accounting by working closely with internal business partners and stakeholders to drive adoption and implementation of global standards, processes and programs
Identify and evaluate potential risks/obstacles with minimal direction. Determines appropriate corrective action

Basic qualifications
5+ years experience in program or project management
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Experience managing accounting process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related financial field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred qualifications
Master’s degree or Accounting certification (CMA or CPA)
PMP Certification
Experience supporting accounting customers to set and effectively manage expectations, project deliverables, and drive resolution when conflicts or issues arise.
Experience in accounting projects, including requirement gathering and testing in environments with distributed systems
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Experience working in a fast-paced environment similar to a high-tech start-up
Proven ability to influence and make an impact
Excellent analytical skills

QUALIFICATION/ LICENSURE :
  • Work Authorization : Green Card, US Citizen, Other valid work visa
  • Preferred years of experience : 5+ Years
  • Travel Required : No travel required
  • Shift timings: Hybrid Work Model: Newark, NJ (2 days onsite)
