Coordinator, Deal Operations
As a key member of the Deal, Production & Localization Operations Team, the Coordinator, Deal Operations supports our client's contract execution, data management, deal implementation, and partner onboarding processes. This individual follows established processes to manage changes over contract lifecycle, maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners, and ensures the completeness and accuracy of our client's contract data. They will work within their team on specific workflows, collaborating with others as needed. The ideal candidate will be an avid consumer of media with an interest in books & entertainment, a self-starter with strong analytical skills, and able to thrive in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Rights & Contract Management
- Work closely with our client's Legal, Content Acquisition & Development, and Content Operations Teams to facilitate contract execution and support deal implementation
- Identify the downstream impacts of new contracts and contract changes at the deal, title, and payment level across relevant systems and teams by following established processes and escalation paths as needed
- Enter terms in out client's contract database and update internal trackers
- Ensure existing processes are followed and identify opportunities for improvement
- Payment Operations
- Work closely with our client’s Finance team to on-board new partners to our client Financial & Tax systems
- Request upfront & milestone payments and update relevant trackers
- Assist in performing monthly and quarterly reviews by ensuring changes are implemented consistently and correctly
- General Support
- Conduct ad-hoc research and analysis
- Respond to inquiries and trouble tickets
- Provide general operational support to the Deal, Production & Localization Operations team
- Participate in data clean-up projects as needed
- Provide reporting to support departmental operational activities
Role Requirements
- B.A. or equivalent degree preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Excellent communication skills to work with a wide variety of people
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle straightforward problems/projects
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers and across team
Preferred but not Required Qualifications
- Experience in an entertainment, digital media or publishing field and/or experience with contracts/IP licensing
- Working knowledge of database concepts & best practices
- Experience with SQL queries
